ST CHRISTOPHER'S Hospice hopes to welcome a record number of visitors to its annual family fun day this weekend.

The event takes place from 11am to 4pm on Saturday in the hospice's gardens in Lawrie Park Road, Sydenham, and promises live entertainment such as bands, dance troupes and magic shows.

Popular children's attractions are also on offer including dray horse and cart rides, a bouncy castle and face painting.

Adults meanwhile will be able to browse the many different stalls and enjoy the barbecue and beer tent.

Last year's event saw 1,600 people come along - but this year it is hoped around 2,000 will join in the fun.

Community fundraiser Rebecca Kemp said: "We can’t wait to welcome the local community for a day of fun once again.

"Last year over 1,600 people joined us and we’re hoping to beat that record this year and attract 2,000 people to the Family Fun Day. Please come along and help us reach our target!

"St Christopher’s simply would not be able to operate without the support of the community; we are so grateful for all the support we receive and we hope to see you on 23 June."
