STAFF from NatWest Bexleyheath Local Market have presented community fundraising manager Stephanie Fuller with a cheque for £3000.

The money was raised from a black tie ball at the Marriott Hotel in Bexleyheath Broadway.

“It’s all part of fundraising for Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice,” said Lesley Dillon, Local NatWest CEO.

“We adopted the hospice as our local charity partner in November last year, and we’ve held a number of events to raise funds, including cake sales and quiz nights.

“As part of our Customer Charter we have promised to get out and volunteer in our community and I know everyone in my team has really enjoyed getting involved."

The hospice is supported by NatWest branches in Eltham, Blackheath, Bexleyheath, Dartford, Greenwich, Northumberland Heath and Sidcup.

A charity cricket match will be held at Bexleyheath Cricket Club on June 22.

NatWest is working towards becoming Britain's most helpful bank and support for the local communities that its branches serve is a key part of that.

“It’s great to support a local charity,” said Lesley. “Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice sits at the heart of our community and it touches the lives of so many of our local residents, customers and staff. You never know when or how the hospice will touch you and we’re delighted to support its work.”

Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice is a registered charity offering high quality specialist palliative care and support services for people with life-limiting illnesses, as well as providing support for their families and carers.

The Hospice does not charge for its services, and only one third of its funding comes from the NHS, which means the Hospice has to rely on the support of mainly local people, businesses, community groups and its network of 14 shops to raise almost £4m annually to continue its work.
