GOLF clubs and BMX bikes are among items being stolen from garages in Gravesend.
Police are warning people storing high-value items in their sheds and garages to consider the possibility of fitting a security alarm following a series of thefts.
Overnight on May 20, thieves stole items valued at more than £1,500 from a garage in Cherrywood Drive, Northfleet.
Among the items taken was golf equipment worth £650 and a cordless drill valued at £250.
Detective Constable Mark Donovan said: “Many have burglar alarms fitted to their homes and for very little extra cost they could fit a sensor to their shed or garage which can be linked to their house alarm system.
“Not only would this give them peace of mind but experience tells us that offenders who unwittingly set of an alarm invariably run off empty-handed.”
Break-ins have also been reported at The Drive, Livingstone Road and Whinfell Way.
