New fundraising album features Blur, Oasis and Squeeze

Hospital radio station launches fundraising CD Hospital radio station launches fundraising CD

A HOSPITAL radio station has launched a compilation CD featuring top acts to raise funds.

Meridian Radio, which broadcasts to patients at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich, has launched The Fundraising Album with the help of Greenwich presenter Tim Courtnell.

Blur, Oasis and local band Squeeze all feature on the 14 track CD, and funds raised from its sale will help Meridian Radio, now in its 51st year, to keep the music playing.

Station chairman Duncan Martin said: "We're hoping to sell as many CDs as possible this year and raise as much as we can in funds.

"Money raised will help improve our facilities and replace tired studio equipment – and maybe even allow us to get some new CDs of our own for the playlist."

The record is on sale for £5 at meridianradio.co.uk

Pop is good, but how about some different types of music. It may even attract more customers, thence more money for the coffers.
