AN ARTIST is showcasing his work at an exhibition in Gravesend.

Roger Mortimer is exhibiting a 26 strong collection of his paintings at The Blake Gallery in Gravesend’s civic centre in Windmill Street until May 16.

The 48-year-old of Russell Close, Bexley uses art therapy to teach adults and children how to paint.

He said: “I love painting landscapes. I’m addicted to it.

“They are all done through memory rather than done by looking at photographs.

“It’s really nice to share my work with people.”

The Blake Gallery was named after the artist Sir Peter Blake, famous for designing the front of The Beatles’ Sergeant Pepper album cover.

It is free to attend and is open Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm.
