POLICE in Greenwich have joined social networking site twitter to keep people in touch with their news.
The @MPSGreenwich feed aims to provide up-to-date information for the community and attratced 300 followers in its first week.
Updates will be posted between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday and include public safety information, crime prevention information, appeals, updates and success stories, along with other information which the Met considers important.
Borough commander Chief Superintendent Richard Wood said "We hope that our twitter account will allow us to reach as many people as possible in Greenwich and communicate to our residents and followers about the work we do.
"@MPSGreenwich is still in its infancy but we hope to get as many followers as possible and keep everyone informed and interested in the work we do".
Followers cannot report crime over the service.
