A 12-YEAR-OLD boy has been arrested after a man was chased by youths and stabbed in Thamesmead.

On Monday (April 30) at around 8pm, three eastern European men were chased near Crossways by a group of six youths.

One of the men, aged 31, was stabbed and is currently in hospital though his condition is not believed to be life-threatening.

Two boys aged 12 and 16 have been arrested and bailed whilst two 18-year-olds have been arrested and are currently in custody.

Detective Sergeant Michael Smith from Greenwich CID said: "We believe that this incident was the result of a verbal confrontation between two groups of men.

"We can confirm that there are no indication to suggest this incident is either gang or drug related."
