A MAN has died following a two-vehicle crash on the M25.

Paramedics from the Kent Air Ambulance were called to junction 2 of the motorway shortly after 8:30am this morning (May 2).

They were called to assist a man in his 30s who was trapped in his vehicle but he was confirmed dead at the scene of the accident.

A second person was taken to hospital by ambulance with what are believed to be minor injuries.

The motorway was closed in both directions while the helicopter landed at the scene.

Although the motorway has now re-opened, delays are still being experienced in both directions.

Clockwise traffic into Kent is queuing from junction 30 while anti-clockwise traffic is slow from junction 3 at the Swanley Interchange.

The clockwise slip road between Princes Road (A296/A225) and junction 2 of the M25 leading to the A2 currently remains closed.

Eye-witness reports report the crash was on the clockwise slip road travelling towards the A2 and involved at least one lorry and a van.

Anyone who saw the collision or has information should call the serious collision investigation unit on 01622 798538.
