CHILDREN at an infant school have been jumping for joy after having a brand new playground installed.
The Parent and Friends Association at Barnehurst Infant School, in Barnehurst Close, raised £10,000 for the equipment.
School councillor, seven-year-old Mya Bennett, said: "The school council asked all the children in the school what they wanted in their new playground and then we were able to work with the playground designers to make it happen."
Youngsters chose a life-sized pirate ship and outdoor classroom.
Headteacher Katherine Powell said: "It was lovely for the children to get a chance to create something they really wanted and it’s all thanks to the hard work and dedication of the fantastic parents and helpers and their fund raising efforts.
"We are delighted with the new facilities."
