A NORTHFLEET residential home catering for 10 people with learning disabilities has failed to meet some essential standards.
It follows a two day inspection of Granby Place in 1-3 Northfleet High Street by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in January.
Inspectors raised moderate concerns for safeguarding people from abuse.
They found that not all staff had completed safeguarding training and they might therefore not be able to identify abuse or take steps to report it.
Inspectors also raised minor concerns for the care and welfare of people in the home, such as records not always providing staff with sufficient information.
The CQC has asked the home to send a report within 14 days setting out the action it will take to improve.
Liz Woodward is the chief executive of DGSM Your Choice, the charity that provides care in the home.
She said: “We welcome the CQC coming in.
“We have already put in place improvements, including a more accessible format of the safeguarding policy for people in the home to understand.
“The CQC picked up on one or two things but generally we got a good report.”
