THE heat was definitely on when teachers and staff at Charles Darwin School in Biggin Hill took part in a charity fire walk.
With a fundraising target of £2,000, 33 members of staff walked over hot coals in aid of Help for Heroes, a soldiers charity chosen by Year 9 pupils at the Jail Lane school.
If this wasn't enough of a challenge, participants also showed pop star Annie Lennox how to walk on broken glass in the form of an "ice walk".
Special thanks went out to Survivorbility, who managed the event by laying the fire pit and running a motivational seminar.
Year 9 teacher Anne Adams said: "Survivorbility was truly inspirational and the motivational seminar was just that.
"It was held behind closed doors, away from the spectators and despite most of us feeling quite anxious, by the time we had broken boards with our bare hands and snapped arrows against our collar bones, we were much more confident."
