An exciting new folk artist who got her lucky break after more than 10 years of song-writing and performing is about to release her first album.

Louise Latham, who compares her style to Sarah McLachlan and Fleetwood Mac, is set to play gigs in Greenwich and Blackheath to promote Reclaimed.

The passionate musician will be appearing at The Icarus Club in The Pelton Arms, Greenwich tonight (May 2) from 8pm and at Blackheath Concert Halls on Friday May 18 at 7.30pm.

She said: “My sister used to live in Greenwich so I know it well – Greenwich Market in particular.

“And Blackheath Concert Halls has a grand piano which is wonderful.

“As a pianist myself this is a real treat.”

Louise, whose voice has been described as pure, ethereal, intense and profoundly moving, is moving back to the UK after living in Holland where her management and producer are based.

Her break came about a year ago when a chance meeting led her to meet her producer.

Since then she has been performing in Holland and recording her album.

She added: “I’m now focused on Britain.

“I’ve been performing for around 10 years and writing for even longer so I’ve got lots of albums ready.

“A lot of hard work has gone into it.

“I’ve also done a lot of teaching English as a foreign language.

“I actually met a Bulgarian lady who plays the cello part on the album through teaching her English.”

In the future Louise hopes to see her album and singles succeed in the charts and tour all over Europe with her music.
