AN Eltham man has been jailed along with four others following the seizure of around £1m worth of high purity cocaine.

Daniel McNeill-Duncan, aged 26, of Prince John Road, Eltham, was handed a five-year sentence after he and the other four men admitted conspiracy to supply cocaine at Harrow Crown Court on April 23.

The sentencing follows an investigation by the Met's Central Task Force who observed 25-year-old Aaron Bowell from St Albans drive to an address at Neaseden, north London, on October 7 last year.

After a few moments he was met by McNeill-Duncan who handed him a black rucksack before getting into the car.

At this point officers detained both Bowell and McNeill-Duncan to conduct a drugs search, while more police officers forced entry into the building.

Inside the rucksack officers discovered 1.5 kilos of cocaine - worth an estimated street value of up to £696,000 - and more than £30,000 in cash.

Inside the building, police found 33-year-old James Bailey, whose house it was, throwing two blue plastic bags out of the window.

Within one of the bags officers found 501 grams of cocaine - valued at up to £344,688. In the second bag was more than £48,000 cash.

A search of other addresses uncovered items including £80,000 worth of cut diamonds.

Detective Constable Chris Prior of the Central Task Force said: "Those sentenced today were well organised and used sophisticated methods to supply and distribute large quantities of cocaine, of extremely high purity, throughout London and the South East.

"They made substantial financial gain from their criminal activities with no regard to the harm they were causing to the communities of London and beyond."
