BRITAIN’S last registered sail-only commercial cargo ship has been the first to moor up at the recently-installed Town Pier pontoon in Gravesend.
Cambria, now a training barge on the Thames, was built in Greenhithe in 1906 and was in service until 1970.
Having undergone a four-year £1.4million restoration, it will be moored at Town Pier until May 4 and is open to the public at 10.30am, noon, 2pm and 4pm for a small fee.
The vessel can be chartered by groups, go to cambriatrust.org.uk.
