Does your pet pooch have the star quality of Beethoven, Lassie and Toto?

The Orchard, Dartford, is looking for a four-pawed fluffy star to feature in the summer production of Annie.

If you think Dartford deserves to see your dog in action then be sure to enter them in this competition.

The theatre is searching for the perfect dog to play Sandy in this year’s Summer Youth Project, Annie.

They need a medium sized, very kind-natured, obedient pooch who is great with children.

Dog auditions take place on Thursday April 26, with registration starting at 5.30pm.

Both the dog and its handler must be available for rehearsal slots between August 20 and 23 inclusive as well as participate in the three shows on Friday August 24 and Saturday August 25.

Dog handlers must be aged 18 and over.

The Summer Youth Project will see 250 local youngsters given the chance to sing, act or dance on The Orchard’s stage.

Under the supervision of a highly-skilled production team including a professional director, choreographer and musical director, participants will spend an intensive two weeks rehearsing for the production which will culminate in three live performances.

If you are aged between nine and 19 years old and wish to take part in the classic production of Annie then visit orchardtheatre.co.uk to download an audition form.

Please return audition forms by Monday May 7.

Anyone successful in their audition must be available between Monday 13 and Saturday August 25.

Auditions will take place on Sunday May 13 from 9am, with registration from 8am.
