JOBSEEKERS are hoping to build a better future for themselves after taking part in a construction training course.
The seven housing association tenants took part in a BTEC level one certificate in construction and a construction skills certification scheme at Hawthorn Centre, Hawthorn Grove, Penge.
After the two week course they were tested on the skills they had learned and received a certificate.
It was funded by Affinity Sutton housing association and run by construction firm John Laing Training.
Affinity Sutton employment and training team leader Basirat Agboola said: "As a business for social purpose we are committed to helping people put down roots and maximising their life chances.
“Part of this is helping to support our residents into work.”
