A CHARITY has opened the doors of its new premises in Penge to disabled and disadvantaged people looking for work.

The Shaw Trust celebrated opening its third premises in Bromley borough at Cranbrook House in Croydon Road.

The charity has been campaigning for 25 years to help disabled and disadvantaged people prepare for work, find jobs and live independently by running social businesses such as recycling, gardening and ink cartidge returns.

The Penge project will focus on recycling activities as well as delivering the News Shopper and offering a confidential waste destruction service for local businesses.

Project manager Georgie Cooper said: “We believe everyone has the right to work and we have campaigned for more than 25 years to turn our vision into reality.

“Our clients have found working alongside other mainstream businesses very beneficial.”
