Andy Norman, 21, Woolwich
Why this design?
It’s a letter I wrote to my wife (Fiona) on our wedding day in August 2010.
I’ve wanted it done for a while just to show that I meant what I said.
My wife loved it.
I had to wait till I was on leave from the Army to have it done for the recovery time.
How much did it cost?
£150
Did it hurt?
Yeah.
It was the worst one I’ve had.
I’ve had one on my neck behind my ear and this was by far the most painful.
I can’t describe the pain, it was really intense – like a normal tattoo pain but amplified mega.
It was so bad I decided it’s the last one I’m getting on my torso but it was worth it because it was only a couple of hours.
What did your friends say?
One of my friends has seen it and he said it looked really nice.
My wife loved it – she was always a bit unsure because you never know what it will look like.
She kept all the letters I wrote to her when I was away – she just loves it.
Have you got any more?
I have a remembrance tattoo for my mum with a cross and her dates of birth and death in a scroll on my right arm, my wife’s name behind my ear and I want to design one to do with my children – almost like a tribal design – but one that means something.
I’ve got five children so it will be a big one.
