A ROYAL Mail delivery office in Sheridan Road, Belvedere, will close on Saturday (April 14).
From Monday, any undelivered items can be picked up from the Dartford delivery office, five miles away.
The move is part of a modernisation programme which includes a £70million mail centre in Rochester which opened in February and will handle all post from Dartford, Canterbury, Maidstone and Tonbridge by the autumn.
Royal Mail said it will continue to offer a “consistent and high quality” service to customers in Belvedere.
It offers free redelivery at a convenient time and also to an alternative address in the same post code. The Dartford centre has parking and is open 7am to 7.30pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays, 7am to 8pm on Wednesdays and 7am to 2pm on Saturdays.
There were no compulsory redundancies as part of the move and staff will be reimbursed for extra travel costs.
