Bexley Council has signed up to work with schools to ensure pupils live up to their potential and develop skills needed to get a job.
The cabinet approved the Education Change Programme to drive up standards on Tuesday (April 10) following consultation with head teachers and governors.
Bexley Council said it will work with Ofsted, hold head teachers and governors to account, buy service, improve the effectiveness of governing bodies and modernise selection testing to achieve its aims.
A steering group will be set up to see through the changes.
Director for Education and Social Care, Mark Charters said: "We accept and are proud to say that education in Bexley is currently of a good standard, but we have an ambition that the education of our children in Bexley will be even better and our children will be able to achieve their full potential.”
A Schools Performance Dashboard will be available on the council’s website shortly.
