AN ERITH teacher was one of 50 from around the world to attend Google’s Teacher Academy.
Paul Greenwood is a Year 5 teacher at Northwood Primary School in Northwood Place, Erith.
He attended a two-day seminar at Google’s London headquarters on April 4 and 5 after sending in a video explaining why the school was innovative.
Mr Greenwood, who studied to be a teacher 11 years ago while working full time as a prison officer at Belmarsh, said: "It was great, it was two days of meeting some really interesting people."
He added: "We have really innovated in the classroom."
In his class Mr Greenwood, 47, said there were 17 laptops.
Children are taught programming and communicate with students internationally.
He added: "We hopefully inspire them in class so they go home and continue doing it."
Mr Greenwood is now a Google Certified Teacher (GCT) and is expected to pool his knowledge with other GCTs and other schools.
