A smoking hot girl band who hope to be the new Spice Girls are Flying Without Wings after landing a life-changing gig.

Vanquish have just announced they will be supporting Irish dreamboats Westlife on the group’s farewell tour which stops at The O2, Greenwich.

Lizzy Williams, from Bromley, was chosen alongside Holly Davis, Bee Macmillan and Rianna Morris to form Vanquish around a year-and-a-half ago.

The 24-year-old singer told Vibe: “I didn’t actually believe it when we found out.

“It was hard because we had to keep it a secret – I found out a good few weeks ago but I wasn’t allowed to announce it until two weeks ago.

“It went mad, our phones didn’t stop going off.

“We got hundreds of new Twitter followers in three days.”

Lizzy adores Westlife, and has a soft spot for one of the charming members.

She added: “I’ve always listened to their songs – you forget how many classics they’ve got.

“I’m hoping to meet them on May 10.

“We just got an email saying we’re having a photo shoot with them.

“Hopefully we’ll become friends and go on a few nights out.

“I quite like Shane – I fancy him just a little bit – but I think he’s married.”

Lizzy and the girls will be warming up The O2 Arena on May 12, 23 and 24.

Following auditions for Vanquish, Lizzy and her new friends were selected from hundreds of girls nationwide.

Since then they have toured schools all over the country to get used to performing together, recorded songs in the studio, and are set to release their debut single The Harder You Love on May 20.

Lizzy, who had previously been singing alone at pubs, weddings and parties, is loving being part of a band.

She continued: “I never imagined this happening.

“I have so much fun when I’m with the girls, it can be lonely on your own.

“We’ve all got massive personalities, we’re all really strong.”

Despite being a team of powerful characters, Lizzy says the band gets on like sisters.

“I’m known as the mummy of the group – if there’s a problem people come to me.” She added.

“Rianna is the worrier, Bee is really laidback and chilled out and Holly is the crazy one.

“We aspire to be like the Spice Girls so much.

“We take our music really seriously but we don’t take ourselves seriously.

“I want to enjoy every day and treasure it because you don’t know when it will end.”

The Harder You Love has been written for Vanquish by Ivor Novello Award winner Jorgen Elofsson who created songs for Kelly Clarkson, Britney Spears, Westlife and Leona Lewis.

The Swedish writer is responsible for eight UK number one hit records.

Lizzy said: “We are very lucky.

“To have someone like that back us and work with us is such an achievement – he’s obviously got belief in us.

“We are pop music but powerful pop music you can’t listen to without getting up and dancing.

“Eventually to headline our own world tour one day would be amazing.”
