PARENTS are being invited to give washable nappies a try during Real Nappy Week.

Bexley residents who have a child under 18 months or are expecting a baby can apply for a £40 voucher to try them out.

The event runs from April 16 to April 22 and encourages parents to save money and prevent lots of nappies going for disposal.

Real nappies look very different from the 'Terry' nappies which parents used to use.

There is no longer a need to fold the nappies or use pins and washing them is also easier as they do not need to be soaked or boiled.

You can find out more about real nappies at the maternity wear and baby clothes swap on April 20 from 2pm to 4pm at Crayford Children’s Centre, Haberdashers’ Aske’s Crayford Academy, in Iron Mill Lane, Crayford.
