The Monty
MUCH-MISSED pub the Montague Arms will not be reopening despite an online petition.
The oddly decorated, family-run New Cross boozer shut earlier this year after the elderly couple who ran it passed away.
Known affectionately as 'the Monty', it was once described by News Shopper's Pub Spy as "the best pub in the universe".
Monty regular Scott Mullins, 27, from Bromley, set up a petition, signed by 454 people so far, calling for it to reopen.
But Lynn Pownall from the family said: "It won't be opening again."
She said whether or not the building would be sold on was "a family decision".
