GREEN-fingered homeowners are encouraged to embrace the jubilee celebrations in this year’s Bexley in Bloom competition.
The annual content is encouraging gardeners across the borough to ‘fly the flag’ by planting their gardens, hanging baskets and plant-pots with a patriotic theme.
Judges have said they will award extra points for designs that fit strongly within the chosen theme.
The Mayor of Bexley, Councillor Ray Sams was among guests attending the competitions launch at the Ruxley Manor Garden Centre in Sidcup.
He said: “I’m delighted to be launching the Bexley in Bloom competition during such a momentous year.
“I cannot wait to see the array or red, white and blue blooms brightening up the borough during the summer months.”
The competition is free to enter and application forms can be downloaded at bexley.gov.uk/bexleyinbloom.
