FOOTBALL tournaments are being used as a weapon to teach children about the dangers of knife crime.

Bromley police and Crystal Palace FC have teamed up to run the Give Knife Crime the Red Card events for under 14s on April 10 and under 18s on April 11.

Workshops will take place during the days to highlight the issues of knife and street crime and to give youngsters information about the consequences of their possible actions.

Both tournaments will take place from 9.30am to 4pm at Goals Soccer Centre, Elmers End Road, Elmers End.
