A SECONDARY school is celebrating after its parents’ association donated £10,000 towards buying a new minibus.

Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar School, in Hurst Road, Sidcup, will use the 13-seater vehicle to transport children to and from sporting and extracurricular activities.

Headteacher Nigel Walker said "We are absolutely delighted with all the work that the parents’ association does because it means that all the students benefit."

Around 30 parents make up the association and have raised the cash through holding events throughout the year including a Christmas fayre, school disco, quiz, raffle and a football tournament.

The minibus cost £21,000 and the remainder of the cash came from the school’s budget.
