HEARING Dogs for Deaf People has celebrated its 30th anniversary with some of the people who have been helped over the years. Sue Craney, 48, of Rosalin Way took part in the Bromley celebrations.

She was given her Cockapoo, who is called Victor, three years ago to help her cope with being deaf.

She said: “I am so grateful to Hearing Dogs for pairing Victor and I. He does so much for me and has really changed my life.

"When people see his coat they realise I am deaf which makes a huge difference, plus he’s a fantastic companion. I can’t imagine my life without him.

“He has been instrumental in increasing my confidence and feeling of security. He makes my world a much more positive one with his intelligent affectionate character and funny ways. It’s hard to feel sad or lonely with Victor around.

“In a world that is often unsympathetic or impatient I am better able to cope because of him and people are generally more friendly.”

Mrs Craney and Victor took part in the celebrations at Bromley Specsavers, which has raised more than £50,000 for the charity.
