THE business skills of a group of Year 6 pupils at a Dartford primary school were put to the test by a group of dragons, including the town’s MP.
Bespoke allergy and medical bracelets, which double as fashion accessories, were picked as winners in Maypole Primary School’s Dragon’s Den-style contest on Friday, March 2.
Thirty-two students in nine groups spent two weeks creating a product and calculating its cost and profit margins before pitching to dragons Dartford MP Gareth Johnson, Sharon Allen of Rochester-based The Generator Company, Clifton Button of Clifton and Co Estate Agent and Andrew Smith of McLaren Contracts.
Among the ideas were a tippex pen, a popcorn-producing car, and a hairband-cum-bracelet. The winners were BCJJ – a team of four boys Justin Friesen, 10, James Town, 11, Billy Hall-Trainor, 10, and Charlie Anderson, 11.
