SPORTING achievements of more than 150 young people were recognised at Bexley Council’s Young People’s Sports Awards at the newly-opened Europa Centre in Crayford.
Guests were treated to gymnastics displays by local clubs and prizes were awarded to national performers on the Sporting Best elite athlete programme, dedicated volunteers, people who have overcome difficulties to succeed and those participating in school sports at the ceremony on Saturday, February 25.
The council’s Environment and Leisure Overview and Scrutiny committee chairman, Councillor Melvin Seymour said: “The evening was a very inspiring experience for all. All award winners should be truly proud of their sporting success."
