Update: Firefighters tackle chemical incident in Orpington factory
FIFTY firefighters from across the area tackled a chemical incident at a factory overnight.
Crews wearing gas-tight suits entered Sun Chemical, Cray Avenue, Orpington, just before 8pm, after reports one of the vats was overheating.
Using water they cooled the vats down to stop the chemical reaction.
They were at the scene until around 11.30pm.
