A DRIVER needed to cut out of his car after it crashed into a lamp post in Plumstead this morning (March 5).
Firefighters were called to the scene in Bostall Hill at about 3am and took the roof and doors off the Vauxhall Astra so the man, who is said to be about 30 years old, could be put on a spinal board.
He was then taken to hospital by ambulance.
The nature of his injuries is not yet known.
His passenger, a man who is believed to be aged around 20, managed to get himself out of the vehicle before being taken to hospital suffering from minor injuries.
A London Fire Brigade spokesman says the driver lost control after getting a puncture as he drove down the hill.
