A 51-YEAR-OLD man has appeared in court today after police seized drugs worth £8.2m.
It follows the arrest on February 15 of three men after police uncovered more than half a tonne of amphetamines and cannabis.
John Downes, of Northern Road, Greenwich, appeared in Redbridge Magistrates’ Court today charged with two counts of conspiracy to supply controlled drugs.
Also in court facing the same charges were 50-year-old Kevin Downes and Brian Chapman, aged 47, both from Bermondsey.
The trio were remanded in custody to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on April 27.
