EARS were left ringing as students at a Belvedere school enjoyed a steel drumming crash course last week.
More than 120 year five pupils at Bedonwell Junior School, in Bedonwell Road, took part in the workshop as part of their annual arts week.
Croydon-based ‘Comets Community Project’ provided the steel drums and worked with each class throughout the day.
They later performed to the entire school in the afternoon.
Headteacher Ivor Gordo said: “It was an amazing sound, it sounded incredible.
“Everyone really enjoyed the performances and the sound ringing round the school all day was very uplifting for us all.”
Pupils at the school took part in a variety of creative activities including photography and painting throughout the week, with year four classes also benefiting from a cartooning workshop.
Bedonwell Junior School teaches 475 pupils aged between seven and 11.
