Queen to visit Bromley for Diamond Jubilee
THE Queen is coming to Bromley in May to celebrate her Diamond Jubilee.
Her Majesty's visit with The Duke of Edinburgh will take place on May 15 as part of a regional tour to commemorate 60 years on the throne.
The last time the Queen came to the borough was in 1986 to open the Bromley Civic Centre and visit Crystal Palace during her Golden Jubilee celebrations.
As well as Bromley, she will be visiting Richmond and Merton.
Council leader Councillor Stephen Carr said: "We are delighted and honoured that the Queen will be visiting Bromley and look forward to showcasing what our borough has to offer.
"As one of only three South London boroughs to host a visit, we are keen to play our part and pay tribute to an extraordinary monarch.
"2012 is an exciting year for Bromley and such a special event will make it even more memorable."
More details will be released over the coming months.
