A 24-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with being in possession of a dangerous dog.
Nathaniel Francis, aged 24, of Trundleys Road, in Deptford has also been charged with three counts under Section 4 of the Animal Welfare Act.
Police were called on January 2 by a member of the public alleging a resident had thrown a dog down the stairs and put a carrier bag around its head.
Officers attended and found the dog, believed to be a Staffordshire pit bull terrier, in a poor condition.
Francis was arrested and charged on February 6 and the dog seized after liaison with the Status Dogs Unit. He is due to appear at Bromley Magistrate's Court tomorrow.
