A JURY of six men and six women have been sworn in to try the case of a former EastEnders extra accused of murdering a pensioner.

Karen Williamson, of Rangefield Road, Downham, denies murdering Pat Jobson last February.

The 86-year-old’s body was found in her house in Oakridge Road, Downham, on February 20 last year.

She was pronounced dead at the scene and a post-mortem examination gave the widower’s cause of death as blunt force trauma to the head.

The prosecution is set to open its case at the Old Bailey on Wednesday morning (February 15).

The case is expected to last two and a half weeks but jurors have been told there is a possibility they could be sitting until March 9.
