A BOYS' brigadier has won a prestigious award for being a lead percussionist.
Scott Baker, aged 16, from the 13th Bromley division, was one of 85 youths from the Boys’ Brigade London District to pick up a Jack Petchey Achievement Award at a ceremony in Kensington.
The boys, aged 11 to 25, had already been presented with medallions, a framed certificate and a £200 cheque for their groups.
Scott won his award for being a leading member of the company percussion group and for encouraging younger members to develop their own social and physical skills.
The Boys' Brigade was founded in Glasgow in 1883 and has grown into a worldwide movement working with millions of children and young people.
The Jack Petchey Foundation provides grants to support young people projects.
