TWO people have been arrested after two pedestrians were seriously injured when they were hit by a car in Bexleyheath yesterday (January 15).

The silver Chrysler Voyager failed to stop at the scene of the collision in Barnehurst Road and police are appealing for witnesses and information.

Emergency services were called at around 1.50am and both pedestrians were taken by ambulance to a central London hospital.

The 50-year-old man is in a critical condition and the 38-year-old woman is described as being serious but stable.

Police later found the vehicle in Northend Road, Erith.

Officers arrested a 32-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman at an address in Bexleyheath at 6.25am yesterday.

Both were taken to a south London police station where they remain in custody.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the silver Chrysler Voyager on Sunday morning is asked to call the police on 020 8285 1574.

I think your comments aimed at the Red Barn pub are unfounded. I drink there often and its not a place where people score drugs from

We don't care whether the Red Barn is a place to score drugs or not, this article is appealing for witnesses or any information to help my husband who is fighting for his life and is the father to 4 very distraught children!!

nautyshawty - please accept my best wishes and sincere hope and belief your husband makes a full recovery.

Steve87 - I think you've made an honest mistake in your post, thinking it was another article you were commenting upon and not this unfortunate incident. Respectfully suggest you issue a statement retracting your comment in relation to this article.

Sorry my comments came after someone commented on this story and their comments have since been removed. The removed comments were by an idiot who commented about this terrible incident, I wont say what the comments were as I dont want to cause any further distress.

Nawtyshawty - Please accept my sincere apologies and wish your husband makes a full speedy recovery.

Really hope your husband makes a speedy recovery and best wishes to you and your family. Stay strong. And please if anyone out there knows anything about this - do the right thing and come forward. These families just need information about what happened.

my name is karen foster and i am the landlady of the red barn.firstly i would like to say that my thoughts are with the person who was injured and his family, i have known him for many years and i hope he recovers soon. secondly in response to the malicious, unfounded and completely untrue rumours that were posted on this site i would like to make it perfectly clear that this accident happened at 2am early sunday morning the 2 people concerned had been drinking elsewhere and had not been near the red barn all evening.to the person who wrote on this site that drugs are sold in my pub, i will be there friday evening if you would like to come in and see me we can find out what info you have about this.i would also like to know how you have this information, perhaps you could tell me.if you dont turn up i will assume that you are just an extremely malicious, nasty little person with nothing better to do than make up rumours on the back end of such a tragedy.actually i wouldnt mind betting that you are someone i have barred.anyway i will see for myself on friday if you turn up.if you dont turn up to see me my advice is just to get a life.

A perfect example of what can happen if people spread gossip.
