AN amateur dramatics company will be raising money during its performances to help an Eltham charity.

The Priory Players will pass around collection buckets during its five performances of Babes in the Wood at Progress Hall, Admiral Seymour Road, to raise funds for the Freddie Farmer Foundation.

Raffles will also be held during the production from January 25 to January 28.

Val Youngman who plays the Sheriff of Nottingham said: “We have all read about Freddie's charity campaign to raise £250,000 to set up a specialist physiotherapy centre in south east London.

“The campaign for a physio centre for children like Freddie seems such a good cause.”

Freddie Farmer of Glenesk Road was born at 28 weeks with cerebral palsy. His condition means that without specialist treatment he would be unable to walk independently.
