A CHEMICAL incident led to 12 people being evacuated from a restaurant in Beckenham last night (January 12).
Emergency services were called to Dizzy’s Diner in the High Street at about 7.20pm after customers complained of having sore throats and eyes.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used monitoring equipment to see if there were any chemicals in the atmosphere but when they were in the building they did not detect any elevated readings.
It is not yet known what caused the diners to suffer from sore throats and eyes.
Three crews from nearby fire stations and three specialist hazardous materials teams dealt with the incident and were there for several hours.
