AN ELDERLY woman died in hospital this morning following a crash in Longfield.
The 76-year-old woman was driving a red Vauxhall Corsa when it was involved in a collision with a red Ford Fiesta at New Barn Road at noon on Thursday, December 22. The man driving the Ford also suffered serious injuries.
The road was closed for around four hours while emergency services dealt with the incident and police forensics teams investigated.
PC Guy Ditcher of Kent Police's serious collision investigation unit said the Vauxhall could have been travelling towards Northfleet, in opposite direction to the Ford when the collision occurred.
PC Ditcher added: “The circumstances of the collision are not known and we would like to hear from anyone that may have seen the incident, or events leading up to it, as they could help us with our investigation."
