BROMLEY police has a new interim borough commander after nobody applied for the job.
Chief Superintendent Stephanie Roberts takes over from Chief Superintendent Charles Griggs tomorrow.
She moves to the borough from the Met Police's Counter Terrorism Command and has been appointed until an officer is posted on promotion.
There were no applicants for the borough commander role due to the number of vacancies in the Met for chief superintendents.
It is hoped the post will be filled by April.
Mr Griggs said: "I have known Steph for many years, another Bromley resident who I know shares my passion and enthusiasm for ensuring Bromley remains a safe place.
"I wish her every success."
Orpington resident Mr Griggs, 51, is quitting the borough after five years to take up the top job at Southwark police.
