Hon John Horam, MP for Orpington has been a visible presence in Bromley's schools and colleges recently.

Last term he visited a geography classroom at Newstead Wood School, Avebury Road, to meet students in support of the Global Campaign for Education, called My Friend Needs a Teacher and this term he was seen presenting awards for design at Orpington College.

Year 9 students (pictured above), created model teachers and wrote supportive messages on them.

Mr Horam said: "I was impressed by their messages and enjoyed our talk about the problems of the developing world."

John Horam will present the comments to the Prime Minister asking for his support for the campaign.

Global Campaign for Education has engaged 7,000 schools in a bid to provide schooling for seven million children worldwide.
