A MAN pleaded with one of his killers to help him while he was being beaten up, before being burnt in the boot of a car, the Old Bailey has heard.

Gagandip Singh, aged 21, of Langdale Crescent, Bexleyheath, died on February 26. His body was found in the boot of a blue Mercedes C-class in Angerstein Lane, Blackheath, at around 2am.

Jurors heard yesterday that Mundill Mahil, aged 20, of Regent Guest House, Maidstone Road, Chatham, lured Mr Singh to her address in Brighton. She had told him she wanted to discuss an incident which occurred six months ago, when he had tried to have sex with her.

The Old Bailey heard that Mahil had arranged for Harinder Singh Shoker (referred to as Ravi), of Charlton Park Lane, Charlton, and Darren Peters, of Shooters Hill Road, Blackheath, both aged 20, to be at the house when Mr Singh visited.

The prosecution submit that Shoker and Peters beat Mr Singh up before driving him back to Blackheath and burning the car.

The court heard Mahil had sent Mr Singh a text asking him to meet her at 11pm on February 25. Despite having fears that he may be being "set up", Mr Singh bought Mahil a teddy bear and drove his sister's Mercedes from London to Brighton.

He got to the address at 9.28pm, but was told by Mahil to wait until the meeting time of 11pm, when she let him in.

Prosecutor Aftab Jafferjee read out one of Mahil's housemates, Sarah Gomes', version of events for that night.

It said: "I heard banging from the lounge which went on for about five minutes, like a sofa being thrown around.

"It then became quiet. Then I heard a male voice pleading, shouting out Mundill's name."

Mr Jaffergee said: "A neighbour heard a lot of noise coming from the next door house. She recalls it was about 11.20pm.

"She then saw two males coming up from the basement steps into the street.

"The two men were carrying something between them-a white duvet wrapped around something which looked body shaped, and heavy but not rigid."

Mahil, Shoker and Peters all deny murder. The trial continues.
