EMPERORS and soldiers took over a Longfield primary school during Roman Day.
Around 60 pupils in Year 3 at Hartley Primary School, in Round Ash Way, dressed up in togas and made shields, masks, mosaics and bracelets for the history event.
The youngsters, aged seven and eight, also created mini documentaries about what they had learnt during their first term.
Teachers Marianna Sterecka, Diana Marsden and Lisa Fewell were on hand to help the children with the activities.
Headteacher Lorraine Hollingworth said: "The children had a hugely enjoyable time and the evidence they recorded in their documentaries reflected the significant amount they have learned in the first few weeks of the new academic year."
