Earlier this month, all Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice Lottery members who have played the Hospice Lottery for one year or more were invited to a special Lottery Member’s Thank You event to thank them for their continued support.

The event was held on October 14 at the Hospice on Bostall Hill, Abbey Wood and around forty lottery members attended.

“The thank you event was a great success,” said Lottery Manager Stacey Booth. “The event was held to say a big thank you to all our lottery members who are supporting us.”

After a welcome and photographs, supporters enjoyed tea and cake, including a fabulous cake donated by Karens Kakes in Welling which had the number twenty-five on it in recognition of the Hospice’s 25th Anniversary.

Afterwards, Hospice Chief Executive Kate Heaps chatted to supporters and thanked them for their continued support.

The event highlighted the importance of lottery members continued support with many members saying, as much as it would be nice to win a cash prize their main reason for playing the Hospice Lottery is to contribute towards the special care that the hospice provides.

By playing the Hospice Lottery local people can help provide Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice with a regular income - which in turn benefits those who are suffering with a life-limiting illness. It also provides an opportunity to win a top prize of £1000 every week, plus a weekly rollover prize of up to £10,000.

The total prize fund comes from the sale of lottery tickets, with the remaining money raised going towards the £16,500 daily running costs of the Hospice.

The cost of playing the lottery is just £2 a week and players can join by visiting www.communityhospicelottery.org.uk or by calling 020 8319 9240.
