THE first bunch of offenders involved in the riots in Bromley have been sentenced.

Codie Farrell, of Tintagel Road, Orpington, was caught on CCTV breaking into the Carphone Warehouse at the Nugent Retail Park in Orpington on the night of August 8.

The 19-year-old pleaded guilty to burglary at Croydon Crown Court and was locked up for 16 months in a young offender institution.

Daniel Ince, aged 23, of Blyth Road, Bromley, was fined £50 after admitting using words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress in Market Square.

Daniel Morris, aged 28, of Stonewood, Bean, was fined £300 after pleading guilty to possessing cannabis in East Street.

A 26-year-old man from Dartford was cautioned by police for handling stolen goods in College Road.

A boy, 16, was ordered to attend the Lewisham Youth Offender Panel for a year for his role in a burglary in East Street.

Bromley police say a 32 further suspects are awaiting trial in connection with the riots with an additional 28 on bail while investigations continue.

Across the borough, 57 businesses reported riot-related crime, including 20 in Bromley town centre.

The sentencings come as the Met Police released 14 further images of suspects wanted over the violence and looting in the borough.

As part of Operation Withern, more than 2,500 arrests have been made with more than 1,500 charges so far across London.

Commander Steve Rodhouse, who is in charge of the investigation, said: "My message to those involved in the disorder and criminality is that you will not get away with it."
