A FUNDRAISING grand prix race in memory of a 23-year-old who died of a brain tumour raised more than £2,000.
Gill and Chris Wood hosted the eighth Scalextric event in their garden in Pickhurst Lane, Hayes, on September 3.
Eleven teams took part in the charity event with Gridlock the eventual winners.
The annual fundraiser, which raised at least £2,000 for Brain Tumour UK and St Christopher's Hospice, was held in memory of the couple's son, Matthew, who died in January 1999, four days before his 24th birthday.
Gill, 61, said: "It was absolutely brilliant, About 100 people came in the end. It was lovely."
