A MASSIVE vegetable is attracting attention in India.
When Balwant Hayre planted gourd seeds in his garden he never dreamed they would turn into a 2ft vegetable.
A gourd is similar to a pumpkin and popularly grown in northern India but even there it only grows to around six inches high.
But this huge gourd has amazed Mr Hayre who has been growing vegetables for more than two years.
The 55-year-old, of Pier Road, Northfleet, says he phoned a farmer in India who was amazed by the find.
He said: "I don't know if we have broken any records but people have been surprised and so are we.
"I think the hot weather has had something to do with it and I just can't wait to eat it now."
